NOROMED is the trademark for the medical division of Myotronics-Noromed, Inc. Noromed was founded in 1991 by the principals of Myotronics, a dental electronics company established in 1966.  Capitalizing on over 25 years of experience in Surface Electromyography (EMG), Noromed was created to market superior computerized surface EMG, Dynamic Range of Motion (DROM) and muscle testing products to non-dental markets. The two companies were merged in early 1998 to provide strengthened engineering and manufacturing resources.

Noromed specializes in the design and manufacturing of advanced surface electromyography (EMG or SEMG), Dynamic Range of Motion (DROM) and muscle testing devices for evaluation and rehabilitation applications in Physical Medicine, Physical Therapy, Chiropractic and University Research. Noromed's products are currently used in 16 countries.

Noromed's products are used by medical professionals to monitor muscle function using surface EMG, muscle testing (dynamometry) instrumentation and record joint function using Dynamic Range of Motion (DROM) instrumentation. The company's surface EMG instrumentation has additional applications as a therapeutic device in muscle re-education. i.e. treatment of stroke patients and treatment of injured muscles.

Noromed is the only U.S. Company that manufactures both EMG and Dynamic Range of Motion (DROM) instrumentation for the evaluation of body function and motion, and for rehabilitation of musculoskeletal dysfunction. Together with Noromed's muscle testing product these technologies complement each other in providing a thorough evaluation of muscle and joint function leading to the formulation of effective protocols for therapy. An important application of surface EMG and DROM measurement is in the evaluation of back pain related disorders.
