Surface EMG (SEMG)
Why Noromed Surface EMG?
- ACCURACY. Greater sensitivity, greater monitoring range and advanced filtering technology produces a result that is accurate and reliable.
- VERSATILITY. Unique, built in Static SEMG Myofascial protocols - as well as multiple paraspinal protocols - allow you to expand the use of SEMG technology in your practice.
- CONFIDENCE. Advanced technology - 8-channel Dynamic SEMG capability, user-programmable software, spectral frequency analysis and over 38 years of SEMG experience. Technology you can depend on.
Static SEMG

With Noromed Static SEMG you get it all, the most advanced technology available in Surface EMG, as well as all the features that give you an invaluable patient education and practice marketing tool.
Superior Technology
Noromed SEMG, with broader operating ranges, greater sensitivity, and unsurpassed ability to eliminate extraneous electrical "noise", provides an SEMG platform you can use with confidence. With Noromed SEMG you know you are getting true, reliable and repeatable results.
In evaluating the technological sophistication, superiority and reliability of SEMG systems, the most important factors are sensitivity (usually expressed in microvolts), the monitoring range (again usually expressed in microvolts), and how the instrument eliminates ambient electrical noise.
- The Noromed MES 9000 is sensitive enough to detect and measure signals as fine as 0.1 microvolts.
- The monitoring range of the MES 9000 SEMG monitoring range is 0-1024 microvolts.
- The MES 9000 has a notch filter to eliminate the ambient 60 Hz electrical noise.
- The bandpass filter (which determines what signal is being captured) of the MES 9000 is 20-600 Hz.

Invaluable Patient Education and Marketing Tools
The ease of use and flexibility of the Noromed SEMG software is the key to providing an effective tool for your practice. With over 30 years of experience with SEMG, Noromed has listened to our customers and we provide:
- Multiple protocols which allow you to perform paraspinal scans in the seated or standing position.
- The option of choosing between a complete 12-site paraspinal scan or a shorter, quicker scan of 5 major paraspinal sites.
- Various report styles that allow you to tailor your printouts to the customer. You can choose to print test results in Narrative style, Data style or Promotional style. Each style includes colorful paraspinal images with a powerful visual display of the test results. This is an easy and powerful tool for patient education or as a screening tool to generate new patients.
- Voice prompts which guide through each exam.
- The option to choose between using the auto-collect feature or the ergonomic foot pedal for data collection.
Dynamic SEMG

Dynamic SEMG allows you to expand upon the data gathered with Static SEMG.
The Dynamic SEMG module of the MES 9000 allows for the recording of up to 8 channels of SEMG simultaneously. The MES 9000 offers you the flexibility to monitor and record the data in its raw state or as integrated data.
The powerful and user-friendly software simplifies the recording of multiple muscle groups of antagonist and synergist muscles to facilitate assessment and case documentation. In addition, the system includes pre-programmed protocols and analysis for assessment, muscle education and relaxation training. The clinician may also program custom protocols - quickly and simply.
